I just saw a post on facebook in regard to

“Marine Staff Sergeant and father of 2 kids at Gower Elementary School in Nashville decided to stand guard outside the front entrance to the school. He’s not paid, has the school’s permission, and is not armed. He plans to do this until the school lets out for the holidays”

I think all military personnel sitting at home with some spare time, please at least visit the school or drive by once in a while if you have time. I think it’s a good idea to be in uniform and drive to your nearby school, guard if you can with no pay and off course no guns, and obviously with permission from the school so that they know your face. I highly recommend this and I think other people would agree.

This will definitely will deter any violent from outside the school and possibly even inside, however the military personnel should consider being appropriate, don’t interact too much with the kids, as I think this will distract actual guarding responsibilities. So please, if you’re a military personnel, please consider volunteer for this, it will make our children and children’s family feel safer and get greater respect.
