If you use skype, you would know it’s very good quality even on dial up. With other VOIP it uses a lot of your internet bandwidth, but skype doesn’t. The good thing about skype is it’s free easy to install, no advertisement banner, easy to use. You can use it anywhere that have internet. Now with the many Skype Phone you can use it like home phone just plug into the internet HUB Switch or router, so it doesn’t required a computer.  However be careful on some of the skype products some might not work as well, remember that you pay what you get, for example skype have special deal $9.99 phone cordless pretty cool, but somewhat bad reviews from the end users community, and the manufacture appears to know the issue but not willing to put effort to fix it [GE]

This review is intended to give you the most technically, unbiased review possible! I purchased this phone after much deliberation and scouring of the interwebs for the best possible Skype phone. This seemed to be the most economically priced with the greatest amount of reliability and performance. Here’s the pros and cons: Pros: Battery life is great if it stays charged (read cons for further information). The menu system is fairly easy to navigate and is for the most part straight forward. Cons: The phone constantly logs out at times forcing you to put your password in each time. With the only option of using T9 numbers/letters, this can be quite a pain for complex or long passwords! The phone is quarky in that you’re required to put in a “1” before every number (they never mentioned this in the manual). The low battery indicator will annoy the dickens out of you if you, for some reason, have to reset the phone. Even on a charged battery it indicates the power is critically low. If you, for some reason, leave the phone off the charging base for too long and the phone happens to die….good luck getting it back up and running. While it’s a known issue with this particular phone, GE refuses to do anything about it and will refer to the manufacture o
