If you’re trying to execute certain program via cmd or dos command prompt and get error message “the system cannot execute the specified program” it probably required the proper Visual C++ distribution. For my case, when I try to execute shoutcast sc_serv sc_serv_basic.conf for shoutcast radio server, I got that error message. It turns out that my Windows XP SP2 has that Visual C++ 2008 Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86) missing, so I downloaded from microsoft website and it work like a charm 🙂
