having a big old tree in the yard can be nice good shade but what happen when big storm hit with strong wind knock it down?

Anyone live in the East Coast Philadelphia suburb area probably encountered a quick powerful storm that lasted for a good 30 mins or so. It woke me up at 4:30AM or so after seeing flashing light outside the window and thunder sound. The wind shook the house like it’s going to tip over or the wind would scrape off the roof top or wall, it is so powerful. This morning I woke up investigate around the house, no damage, except someone’s trash-can roll to our side walk. Out neighbor’s house had a few down trees branches, luckily it probably didn’t damage the house. This came without any warning or I guess there was a warning but no one would have known about it, since we all sleeping. Once again it’s amazing how big mother nature could be and how small us human are if mother want to destroy us. Now imagine a storm thousand time stronger than this on other planet, how would we survive? and the storm last longer than 30mins, let say it never really stop 🙂
